SUMMARY:Large Building Blower Door Testing - Session Part 2
DESCRIPTION:Online\n \n Register for FREE\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Series Overview - Session Part 1\, 2\, and 3\n A three-part progressive technical learning series covering the complete large building blower door testing process. Beginning with an understanding of the applicable standards\, testing protocols\, performance targets and metrics\, the series progresses through building and test preparation and concludes with the actual testing process\, interpretation of results and practical solutions. \nEach session builds on the knowledge developed in the previous session\, taking participants from understanding what needs to be achieved\, through how to properly prepare for testing\, to conducting the test and understanding what the results mean. The series is designed for architects\, engineers\, builders\, developers\, property managers and other professionals involved in the design\, construction and performance of large buildings. \n \n \n \n \n \n Session Part 2 / Preparing the Building - Overview\n Building on the standards\, targets and metrics introduced in Part 1\, Part 2 focuses on the practical preparation required to achieve a meaningful and successful large building blower door test. \nThe session examines defining the test boundary\, exterior and partition walls\, intentional openings\, temporary sealing\, mechanical and ventilation systems\, equipment requirements\, building conditions and site preparation. Particular attention will be given to how the selected testing protocol affects the way the building must be prepared and how preparation decisions can directly influence the validity and outcome of the test. \nThe objective is to ensure the project team understands what needs to happen before test day and why\, rather than discovering problems once testing has already begun. \n \n \n \n \n \n Date and Time:\nSeptember 2\, at 12:00 – 12:30 (Mountain Time)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Speaker: Stephen Farrell\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About Stephen\n \n \n \n \n \n Stephen Farrell is the owner and operator of Acacia Engineering Ltd.\, Qualistat Building Performance Consultants\, VerdaTech Energy Management and Consulting Inc.\, and Gets Energy.
