BC Hydro’s Social Housing Energy Savings Program (SHESP) empowers social housing providers—non-profit housing societies, housing co-ops, Indigenous housing authorities, and government bodies—to reduce energy costs, upgrade systems, and enhance tenant comfort through provincial funding and expert support.
Program Highlights:
- Energy assessments made easy: Up to $6,000 in funding for high-level energy assessments—fully supported for consultant costs, reducing upfront burdens.
- Detailed feasibility studies: Access up to $37,500 per site for technical and financial analysis—ideal for planning robust, long-term upgrades.
- Major retrofit support: Leverage up to 75% funding for upgrades, covering a variety of measures like heat pumps, lighting, ventilation, windows, and more—plus $11,000 in implementation support to smooth project delivery.
