Net Zero Training – Terms and Conditions
1. General
These Terms and Conditions apply to all training programs delivered by the VT Group of Companies, including but not limited to:
- NetZero Builder Training
- NetZero Renovator Training
- Advanced Building Science Training
By registering for a course, the participant acknowledges and agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Training Fees and Payment
2.1 Payment in Full
Full payment of the applicable course fee is required at the time of registration. Registration is not considered confirmed until payment has been received in full.
2.2 Non-Refundable Fees
All training fees are strictly non-refundable. This applies in all circumstances, including but not limited to scheduling conflicts, illness, failure to meet eligibility requirements, or failure to achieve a passing grade.
2.3 Transferability
Registration may be transferred to another individual subject to the following conditions:
- The transferred registration must be used for a course delivered by the VT Group of Companies.
- Transfers to other providers or organizations are not permitted.
3. Course Materials and Manuals
3.1 Mandatory Manuals
Participants in the following programs must possess the required manuals prior to the course start date:
- NetZero Builder Training – CHBA Builders Manual
- NetZero Renovator Training – CHBA Renovators Manual
Participants are responsible for obtaining the correct and current edition of the applicable CHBA manual.
3.2 Excluded Costs
The course fee does not include:
- Purchase of CHBA Builders or Renovators Manuals
- CHBA membership fees
- CHBA registration fees (if applicable)
All such costs remain the sole responsibility of the participant.
4. Certification and Rebate Eligibility
4.1 General Requirements (All Courses)
- For certification and any rebate eligibility, participants must:
- Pay the course fee in full at registration;
- Achieve a minimum passing grade of 75 percent on all required assessments;
- Complete all required coursework;
- Comply fully with attendance and participation requirements;
- Meet all applicable program requirements
Failure to meet these requirements will result in:
- Ineligibility for certification;
- Ineligibility for rebate reimbursement;
4.2 CHBA Members – NetZero Builder and NetZero Renovator Training
To qualify for any applicable CHBA rebate:
- The participant must be an active member in good standing with the Canadian Home Builders’ Association at the time of registration and course completion;
- All CHBA program criteria must be satisfied;
- The participant must achieve a minimum passing grade of 75 percent;
- Attendance requirements must be fully met.
Reimbursement for eligible CHBA members is issued directly by CHBA and is subject to CHBA policies, funding availability, and processing timelines. The VT Group of Companies does not control CHBA reimbursement timelines.
4.3 Non-CHBA Members – VT Group Rebate
Non-CHBA members may be eligible for a $400 rebate per NetZero Builder and/or NetZero Renovator course issued by the VT Group of Companies, subject to:
- Full payment at registration;
- Achievement of a minimum passing grade of 75 percent;
- Compliance with attendance requirements;
- Completion of all coursework and assessments.
The VT Group rebate does not apply to CHBA members or to the Advanced Building Science Course.
4.4 Advanced Building Science Training
Participants in Advanced Building Science Training may be CHBA members or non-members to qualify for the CHBA rebate. The following criteria must be met:
- The participant must achieve a minimum passing grade of 75 percent;
- Attendance requirements must be fully met.
5. Reimbursement Timing and Process
All reimbursements are strictly contingent upon successful completion of the course and satisfaction of all eligibility requirements outlined in Section 4.
5.1 Associated Canadian Energy Advisors
Where a participant is an Associated Canadian Energy Advisor and CHBA rebate funding is administered through the VT Group of Companies:
- Reimbursement to the participant will occur only after the VT Group has received payment from CHBA;
- CHBA reimbursement to the VT Group may occur approximately 30 to 60 days following course completion and submission of required documentation;
- Participant reimbursement will be issued within approximately 30 days after the VT Group has received funds from CHBA.
5.2 CHBA Members
Eligible CHBA members will receive reimbursement directly from CHBA in accordance with CHBA policies and timelines. Processing time is determined solely by CHBA.
5.3 Non-CHBA Members
Non-CHBA members eligible for the VT Group rebate will receive reimbursement directly from the VT Group of Companies. Reimbursement will generally occur within approximately 30 to 60 days following verification that all eligibility requirements have been satisfied.
All reimbursement timelines are estimates and may vary depending on administrative processing, verification procedures, and external funding timelines.
6. Conduct and Academic Integrity
Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. Academic dishonesty, including plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, or misrepresentation of attendance, may result in immediate removal from the course and disqualification from certification and rebate eligibility.
7. Amendments and Administrative Authority
The VT Group of Companies reserves the right to:
- Modify course schedules, instructors, or delivery format as required;
- Update these Terms and Conditions as necessary;
All administrative decisions made by the VT Group of Companies regarding compliance with these Terms and Conditions are final.
